2008 Coaching Clinics
I would like to thank the Tom Price BMX club and RioTinto for giving me the opportunity to come up and coach the riders.
We need more clubs like Tom Price in the sport. The atmosphere and environment is exactly how BMX should be, it's fun and everyone gets involved and is encouraging.
The amount of talent in this club is eye opening, after seeing the effort the riders and the club put in for me and this coaching clinic I give the Tom Price BMX club my full support and I'm willing to help out anytime.
Brock Murray Comes to Tom Price
The Tom Price BMX Club held its first intensive coaching clinic with Brock Murray the WA Elite Men’s Champion over the weekend of 12 - 14 September.
Brock has never been to the area before and was unsure of what to expect from the clubs riders, the track and the environment.
During the weekend Brock trained groups of riders ranging in age from 6 years to riders in their 30’s, as well as conducting individual training sessions for members of the Tom Price BMX club. All riders that took part in these training sessions gained lots of confidence and learnt new skills that will improve their riding and racing skills. Brock said, “The amount of talent in this club is eye opening. The atmosphere and environment is exactly how BMX should be.”
At the conclusion of the weekend Brock Murray said, “thanks to the Tom Price BMX Club as well as to Rio Tinto for the opportunity to come up and coach the riders. I give the Tom Price BMX Club my full support and I’m willing to help out at any time.”
